Teaching & Speaking

My teaching focuses broadly on topics of leadership and management in modern organizations, combining research-driven lessons with experiential challenges and real-world case studies to create an engaging session that prepares people to be more effective leaders in their workplace.

As Faculty Director of the Center for Innovative Leadership, I have developed several popular leadership development courses, including an immersive residential course on leading through uncertainty and ambiguity, as well as an outdoor experiential leadership course, helping students hone their leadership through 9-day immersive mountain trekking or sea kayaking expeditions. I also teach frequently in the Carey Business School's Executive Education program in open-enrollment courses for practicing leaders and managers and in custom programs with individuals and organizations from a variety of industries and global settings.

In addition to my formal teaching, I deliver research presentations, lectures, and seminars on topics regarding learning, leadership, and health care management to practicing leaders and managers in organizations. I have  worked with organizations and leaders from a variety of backgrounds and countries, including Fortune 500 firms, academic medical centers, local and national government agencies, as well as police, fire, and emergency services organizations.
